On the date of 2^nd September 2021, at The request of APAL’s state committee Gujarat, the Ahmedabad municipal corporation conducted the COVID-19 vaccination camp successfully in the Gandhi leprosy Sewa Sangh at Ahmadabad and vaccinated 200 people affected by leprosy and their families

On behalf of people affected by leprosy, APAL conveys deep gratitude to the Ahmedabad municipal corporation for their valuable services and the state committee for their active contributions to the vaccination camp and the field of the leprosy community

On the date of 2^nd September 2021, APAL, Mr. Narsappa President, Mr. Venu Gopal APAL, and Mr. Sailu President of SLAP Andhra Pradesh visited Adarsh Nagar Leprosy Colony at Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, and interacted with people affected by leprosy and their families who reside in the leprosy colony

During the interaction, Mr. Venu Gopal informed us about APAL’s activities and assured us to extend its support to the leprosy colony through the State Committee.

The colony leaders and inmates requested for support the children’s education, clearance of pension, and ulcer care treatment.

Mr. Narsappa addressed the meeting, Mr. Venu Gopal informed about UDID Card’s benefits and invited youth to attain the cards for people with disabilities

Mr. Ravi Kumar Naik, youth leader also addressed and explained their activities

On the date of 1^st September 2021, APAL, Mr. Narsappa President, Mr. Venu Gopal, and Mr. Ramesh President of SLAP Telangana visited Ambedkar Leprosy colony, Nalgonda, Telangana and interacted with the people who reside in the leprosy colony

During the interaction with the people affected by leprosy, Mr. Venu Gopal informed us about considering a proposal of Prevention of Disability (POD) for the ulcer patients of the leprosy colony and the activity will be started after the approval of the agency.

Also informed about UDID Cards and assured support from Apal India

On the date of 31^st August 2021, at The request of APAL’s state committee Jharkhand, the health department of Jharkhand conducted the COVID-19 vaccination camp successfully in the Gandhi Ashram at Jamshedpur and 2nd dose vaccinated 320 people affected by leprosy and their families

On behalf of people affected by leprosy, APAL convey deep gratitude to the Government of Jharkhand for their valuable services and Mr. Zainuddin President of the state committee, and Mr. Jawahar Paswan Board Member of APAL for their active contributions to the vaccination camp and in the field of the leprosy community

On the date of 31^st August 2021, APAL’s state committee Jharkhand submitted a memorandum to the local MP to solve the CC roads, Drainages, Electricity Concession, etc, problems of Antyodaya Kusht Ashram at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, and the represent of MP Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and Mr. Sudhansu Ojah visited the colony, observed the situation, and informed to the respected MP; finally, he assured to solve the all problems of the leprosy colony as soon as possible

On the date of 31^st August 2021, In collaboration with local donor Mr. Praveen Kumar, APAL’s state committee distributed a tricycle to Mr. Mithesh Kumar at Jharkhand

On the date of 31^st August 2021, at The request of APAL’s state committee Gujarat, the health department of Gujarat conducted the COVID-19 vaccination camp successfully in the Sathya Jeevan Leprosy Colony at Ahmadabad and vaccinated 54 people affected by leprosy and their families

On behalf of people affected by leprosy, APAL convey deep gratitude to the Government of Gujarat for their valuable services and the state committee for their active contributions in the vaccination camp and in the field of the leprosy community

On the date of 29^th August 2021, APAL successfully conducted an Interaction Meeting with the state committee Bihar in Hotel Harisons at Patna, Bihar; the meeting was presided by Mr. Narsappa President of APAL and Mr. Venu Gopal Vice President of APAL

In this meeting the discussion went on well on new rules of the FCRA, Future programs, Formation of the youth, RPWD Act and UDID Cards; Mr. Venu Gopal explained the all details to the participants

In this meeting, Mr. Narsappa, Mr. Venu Gopal, Mr. Uday Thakar, Mr. Kamlesh Chandra Lal Board Member of APAL, Mr. Someswar Dubey President of the state committee, Mr. Ramvarai Sha, Mr. Brij Kishore, youth, and others have participated

On the date of 27^th August 2021, APAL conducted an online training meeting for volunteers of the COVID-19 Awareness Program

After introductions, Mr. Venu Gopal CEO of APAL and Mr. Uday Thakar explained the need and usefulness of the COVID-19 Awareness Program and also explained the activities of APAL in the leprosy colonies.  Also said that In this terrible COVID-19 crisis time the health promotion information is reaching some persons affected by leprosy but others are difficult to reach due to travel restrictions and illiteracy. Persons affected have specific and ongoing leprosy-related healthcare needs. If persons affected can reach health facilities, they face reductions in services, as facilities transition to exclusively treating COVID-19 patients. 

Mr. Venu Gopal urges every volunteer should work with dedication and make sure the program is useful and successful

On the date of 26^th August 2021, APAL conducted successfully the interaction online meeting SHF with the APAL’s state leaders of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu 

After the introductions, the state leaders and the state committee members expressed their achieved activities for the past 2 years and further plan of activities in the leprosy fields

1. Sanctioned 186 house pattas
2. Sanctioned 29 houses
3. Medicine support 2636 people affected by leprosy and their families
4. Dressing materials support 1200 people affected
5. 450 MCR footwear distributed
6. Sanctioned 2 community halls and under in the process
7. Constructed drainages in 13 colonies
8. CC roads were constructed in 6 colonies and 2 colonies under the process
9. Foodgrains and masks and sanitisers are distributed and Corona tests are done, etc

SHF team appreciated APAL and all the state leaders for their tireless efforts by providing services and support to people affected by leprosy to live with dignity in the mainstream society
