APAL’s state committee Odisha started the Medicinal plantation program
On 12th July 2022, APAL’s state committee Odisha started the Medicinal plantation program at Malgodam Leprosy Colony in Rourkela, and 500 tree saplings were planted- 100 Jamun, 100 Kaintho, 20 Kathal & 280 Anwla
On behalf of persons affected by leprosy, APAL is thankful to Mr. Umesh Naik for taking valuable intervention and saving soil

On 10th July 2022, APAL conducted an online Youth Meeting successfully and discussed the colony problems, land issues, status of the social entitlements of persons affected by leprosy, and society registrations


At this meeting, APAL’s Board Members, Mr. Venu Gopal CEO-APAL, Youth Group Leaders Mrs. Keroline, Mr. Vijay Kumar, Mr. Bhuvneswar Sahoo, and Mr. Madhu Sudhan, Monitors Mr. Sarang Gaydhane and Mr. Prakash Done and Mr. Uday Thakar Project Advisor have participated
APAL’s President Mrs. Maya Ranavare met Dr. Kamble District Health Officer, Dr. Palekar Medical Officer
On 8th July 2022, APAL’s President Mrs. Maya Ranavare met Dr. Kamble District Health Officer, Dr. Palekar Medical Officer, and Ms. Vandana Leprosy Technician at their office in Kurundwadi, Kolhapur, Maharashtra


At this meeting, Mrs. Maya Ranavare requested through a submitted memorandum to conduct UDID camps at leprosy colonies overall Kolhapur district and also explained the need for UDID cards for persons affected by leprosy residing in the leprosy colonies On behalf of persons affected by leprosy(Disability), APAL is thankful to Dr. Kamble, Dr. Palekar, and Ms. Vandanafor their positive response and comfortable hospitality and special thanks to Mrs. Maya Ranavare for her great intervention and execution
In collaboration with Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation, APAL’s state committee Odisha visited the After School Learning Center
On 5th July 2022, In collaboration with Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation, APAL’s state committee in Odisha visited the After School Learning Center and conducted a meeting with the team of SILF at Rourkela Leprosy Colony in Odisha


On behalf of persons affected by leprosy(Disability), APAL is thankful to the SILF and the team for their valuable services to children living under the shadow of leprosy residing in the leprosy colonies, and special thanks to Mr. Umesh Naik President of the state committee Odisha
In collaboration with Ahmedabad Civil hospital, APAL’s state committee Gujarat distributed food grains
On 3rd July 2022, In collaboration with Ahmedabad Civil hospital, APAL’s state committee Gujarat distributed food grains to 65 persons affected by leprosy at Gandhi leprosy Sewa Sangh Amraiwadi in Ahmedabad Gujarat and sponsored by Dr. Gitanjali, Dr. Rajesh, Dr. Bhavesh.

On 1st July 2022, APAL and the President of APAL Mrs. Maya Ranavare, and the Formal President of APAL Mr. Narsappa visited World Health Organization (WHO) office in Delhi; met Dr. Ranganadh Rao and discussed the collaboration to conduct a leprosy survey in India properly

On behalf of persons affected by leprosy(Disability), APAL conveys gratitude to WHO for including APAL in the survey to better understand the current situation in the leprosy fields by the censuses

On 28th & 29th of 2022, An Interaction Meeting was held with representatives of Sasakawa Health Foundation, Japan on 28th & 29th June 2022 in Delhi and discussed the current situations of facing struggles and solutions for living with the dignity of persons affected by leprosy(Disability) living in the leprosy colonies
