Mrs. Maya Ranavare, President of APAL recently received an invitation from the Public Health Department Employees Association to attend their annual meeting in Nagpur

On 20th February 2024, Mrs. Maya Ranavare, President of APAL recently received an invitation from the Public Health Department Employees Association to attend their annual meeting in Nagpur. As an active member of several grassroots organizations dedicated to promoting healthcare, sanitation and hygiene awareness amongst marginalized communities in the region, Mrs Ranavare was keen to participate in the formal discussions and also got the opportunity to share her experiences and insights on key challenges facing public health initiatives in the region.

In addition to the formal proceedings, Mrs Ranavare took the opportunity to visit the Sevagram Ashram, an institution dedicated to Gandhian thought and principles of community service and self-reliance. At the ashram, she observed the various services being offered to the local community, including health clinics, vocational training programs, and initiatives supporting sustainable agriculture and clean energy. Mrs Ranavare expressed her appreciation for the work being done by the Sevagram team and noted that it was a great model for similar initiatives to be taken in other regions with similar challenges. Overall, Mrs. Maya Ranavare’s participation in this meeting and visit to Sevagram Ashram serve as a model for partnership and collaboration among government and non-governmental entities towards expanding access to quality healthcare and social services in underserved communities.
