On the date of 9^th October 2021, APAL and APAL’s volunteer Ms. Lalitha Patil conducted successfully the COVID-19 awareness program at Lal Nagar Leprosy Colony, Maharashtra in the presence of Mrs. Maya Ranavare Treasurer of APAL

On the date of 8^th October 2021, APAL and APAL’s volunteer Mr. Maithil Sahoo conducted successfully the COVID-19 awareness program at Nayabazar Radhakrishna Mandir Leprosy Colony, Odisha in the presence of Mr. Umesh Naik President of the state committee

In this program, Mr. Sundergarh DLO, Mr. Rourkela DLC, Leprosy Supervisor, Leprosy Paramedical Workers, AASHA workers, and Anganwadi workers have participated and explained the precautions of the COVID-19 People affected by leprosy and their families are mostly impacted by the COVID-19. In response to this upheaval, the Association of People Affected by Leprosy (APAL) decided to run a project in the 30 leprosy colonies of 6 states, by the volunteers who are active and well-trained youth living in the same leprosy colony. The volunteers are aware people on the precautions of COVID-19 and do the health tests by Oximeter and Temperature gun as like first aid to people affected by leprosy and their families also and refer to the near PHC

On the date 6^th October 2021, APAL and APAL’s volunteer Mr. Vijay Kumar conducted successfully the COVID-19 awareness program in Rahamgang Leprosy Colony at Darbhanga, Bihar

ACMO Dr. Sudhansu Shekhar Jha inaugurated the program and explained the precautions, taking the vaccine, handwashing, masking social distance, not going out unnecessary, etc

Also, he was guided on to the use of an Oximeter, a Temperature gun

On this occasion, Ward representative Mr. Santosh Kumar Mahato, from Leprosy dept. Mr. Pawan Kumar Yadav, Mr. Vibhu Bhusan, Mr. Vinay Kumar Dev, Mr. Nisar Ahmad, etc. were present and expressed the good work of APAL

People affected by leprosy and their families are mostly impacted by the COVID-19. On the date of 4^th October 2021, APAL and the volunteer of APAL Ms. Samruddi inaugurated the COVID-19 Awareness Program and health screening tests for people affected by leprosy and their families in Udyam Nagar Leprosy Colony at Ratnagiri, Maharashtra in the presence of Mrs. Maya Ranavare Treasurer of APAL

On the date of 7^th September 2021, at The request of APAL’s state committee Telangana (SLAP-TS), the health department of TS conducted the COVID-19 vaccination camp successfully in the Shanthi Nagar Leprosy Colony at Hyderabad and vaccinated 294 people affected by leprosy and their families

On behalf of people affected by leprosy, APAL conveys deep gratitude to the Government of Telangana, the health department, and the team for their valuable services and the state committee for their active contributions in the vaccination camp and the field of the leprosy community

On the date 5^th September 2021, at The request of APAL’s state committee Maharashtra, the health department of MH conducted the COVID-19 vaccination camp successfully in the Shendapark Leprosy Hospital, Kolhapur, and vaccinated 80 people affected by leprosy and their families

On behalf of people affected by leprosy, APAL conveys deep gratitude to Dr Kharmode & the team for their valuable services and to the state committee for their active contributions to the vaccination camp and the field of the leprosy community

On the date of 3^rd September 2021, APAL’s state committee Jharkhand visited the Ramgarh Leprosy colony, filled the application of PM Avas Yojana to 75 families, and met with related Government authorities; submitted it to Nagar Parisad, Ramgarh and got assurance

On the date 3^rd September 2021, APAL’s state committee Andhra Pradesh (SLAP-AP) conducted an interaction Meeting Mr. Prakash Working President of SLAP -AP and Board Member of APAL with the people affected by leprosy, colony leaders, youth in the Prabhu Leprosy Colony at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh

During the interaction, Mr. Prakash explained the importance of unity, and equality and motivated the youth to help or support people affected by leprosy and people with disabilities as our responsibility and liability, it helps people affected to live with dignity in the society

The colony people are informed of the status of social entitlements, the need for education support, and health and ulcer care treatment properly

APAL conveys special thanks to the state committee of Andhra Pradesh and Mr. Prakash for his active services in the leprosy fields

On the date of 2^nd September 2021, APAL, Mr. Narsappa President, Mr. Venu Gopal visited Dhone Leprosy Colony at Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh

Mr. Sailu President of the State Committee (SLAP-AP) explained the non-availability of ulcer care dressing materials from the Government District Authorities.

Mr. Venu Gopal addressed the meeting of the people of the colony. He informed us about the activities of APAL and assured us to extend the support of APAL.

Mr. Narsappa addressed the meeting and talked with the SLO, DLOs of Kurnool, and Dhone about the issue. The authorities assured to arrange dressing materials for the patients who are struggling with chronicle ulcers in both colonies.

On the date of 2^nd September 2021, In collaboration with Rising Star Outreach, the state committee Andhra Pradesh (SLAP-AP) distributed food grains to 28 families of people affected by leprosy and their families in Prabhu Leprosy Colony at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh

On behalf of people affected by leprosy, APAL conveys deep gratitude to Rising Star Outreach for their great services to people affected continuously and this kind of support helps people to live without despair and perplexity
