Capacity Building Workshop for youth on RPWD Act 2016
Capacity Building Workshop for youth on RPWD Act 2016 organized successfully on 28th January 2022 at Hotel Kinara Grand in Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad

Organized by Network of persons with disability Organizations-India in partnership with Association of People Affected by Leprosy and supported by Sasakawa Health Foundation, Disabled People’s International, and National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP)
Facilitated by NPDO, SLAP Andhra Pradesh, and SLAP Telangana
In collaboration with Gospel for tribals social service society, APAL state committee Telangana (SLAP-TS) distributed food grains
On the date of 23rd January 2022, In collaboration with Gospel for tribals social service society, APAL state committee Telangana (SLAP-TS) distributed food grains,, Sarees and Shirts to 80 families of persons affected by leprosy at Moulaali Leprosy Colony in the presence of Mr. G. Prem Kumar Corporator, Mr. Umesh Singh colony chairman, Dr. N. Venkatesh, Malkajgiri PHC medical officer, and Mr. Ramesh, president SLAP Telangana.

On the date of 20th January 2022, APAL’s volunteer Mr. Gaurang provided health care services by health screening tests to persons affected by leprosy and their families at Narsingh Kusht Palli, Brajrajnagar Jharsuguda Odisha under the monitoring of Mr. Umesh Naik President of the state committee Odisha

On the date of 17th January 2022, APAL’s dresser Mr. Lakshmi Narayana provided ulcer care services to persons affected by leprosy who are facing trouble with leprosy-related ulcers and wounds at Gandhi Leprosy Sewa Sangh Amraiwadi Ahmedabad Gujarat under the monitoring of Mr. Vijay Kumar

On the date of 13th January 2022, APAL’s CEO Mr. Venu Gopal visited the POD centre at Ghorashan Leprosy Colony East Champaran, Bihar Mr. Kamalesh, Board Member, APAL also joined the visit. After observation, some suggestions were given to dresser and ulcer case patients for better maintenance to heel ulcers early

Mr. Kamalesh Chandra Lal, Board Member APAL also joined the visit. After observation, some suggestions were given to dresser and ulcer case patients for better maintenance to heel ulcers early.

On the date of 6th January 2022, APAL’s dresser Mrs. Basubai provides ulcer care health services by SSOD( Soaking Scrubbing Oiling and Dressing)to persons affected by leprosy-who are facing trouble with leprosy-related ulcers and wounds at Asha Gram Leprosy Colony in Barwani, Madhya Pradesh

Due to loss of sensation the People Affected by Leprosy get ulcer wounds in their hands and feet. They require daily dressing of the ulcers to prevent bone infections and amputation of legs and fingers.

On the date of 5th January 2022, APAL’s CEO Mr Venu Gopal met with Dr Anil Kumar, DDG ( Leprosy) in his office at Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.

Discussed discriminatory laws, World Leprosy Day and health-related issues.
DDG assured to extend services of the Central Leprosy Division to solve health issues and to involve in repealing discriminatory laws
