APAL’s state committee Jharkhand conducted a meeting
On April 5, 2022, APAL’s state committee Jharkhand conducted a meeting in Jamtara Mihijam leprosy colony and discussed the skills, livelihood, scholarship, and the Prime Minister’s housing scheme.
Residents attended the meeting, livelihood, scholarship, skill development, the discussion took place, along with information regarding UDID card was also given, the nodal officer of 90 Prime Minister Housing Scheme municipal bodies of all three colonies, Mr. Manish Tiwari, ward member 20 and 17 with the help of ward councillor. A Survey of all three colonies was done Nodal officer said that 1.5 acres of land have been allotted for a housing scheme on which flats for persons affected by leprosy and their families will be built. APAL’s state committee Gujarat met the honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat
On the date of 5th April 2022, APAL’s state committee Gujarat met the honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Bhupendra Bhai Patel, Mr. Jayesh Bhai Patel ESI, IAS Officer Mr. Avantika Singh, CMO department Mr. Pranav Parrekh and submitted a memorandum and express the problem of disability pension to persons affected by leprosy who reside in the leprosy colonies in Gujarat
On behalf of persons affected by leprosy, APAL conveys gratitude to the respected CM of Gujarat for his positive response by giving assurance to do the favour to persons affected by leprosy and special thanks to Mr. Vijay Kumar and all members of the state committee Gujarat for their active contribution

Collaboration with Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation, APAL’s state committee Madhya Pradesh, visited Sant Dnyaneshwar Leprosy Seva Samiti
On the date of 4th May 2022, In collaboration with Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation, APAL’s state committee Madhya Pradesh, visited Sant Dnyaneshwar Leprosy Seva Samiti in Mahesh Yadav Nagar, Banganga, interacted with colony leaders, youth, and all inmates of the colony and discussed the current situations like the infrastructure of the colony, children education, self-employment and etc
On behalf of persons affected by leprosy, APAL is thankful to Mr. Sachin G. Patidar and Mr. Sarang for their contribution to the empowerment of persons affected by leprosy and their families

Andhra Pradesh (SLAP-AP) conducted a meeting and registered as society
On the date 4th April 2022, Under the program strengthening the leprosy colonies or people living at the grassroots level APAL’s state committee, Andhra Pradesh (SLAP-AP) conducted a meeting and registered as society at Leprosy colony in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh
The society formation is useful to persons affected by leprosy and their families to protect themselves from the land issues and better ways to approach the Government for their needs and social entitlements
Special thanks to Mr. Prakash President of the state committee and his team for the active contribution to the leprosy fields

APAL conducted an Executive Committee Meeting with APAL’s advisory committee
On the date 1st April 2022, APAL conducted an Executive Committee Meeting with APAL’s advisory committee at Hotel SPB87 in New Delhi
On this occasion, the board and advisors discussed the future activities for the socio-economic empowerment and welfare of persons affected by leprosy and their families those who reside in the leprosy colonies

APAL conducted stakeholders meeting with SILF
Minutes of Stakeholder meeting with SILF held on 30.3.2022 at Delhi. The meeting was transacted the following business.
Dr.Vivak Lal, chaired the session.

- Mr.Narsappa welcomes all the Executive Committee members of APAL & staff of SILF on behalf of APAL.
- Mr.Venugopal briefly explains the purpose of the meeting. He said that it is not a fault-finding mission, but it is a meeting to learn how to strengthen cooperation between SILF and APAL.
- Dr.Lal in his speech said that for perfection in the working information collection, skill development and constant contact is key areas where APAL & SILF should work together. After the self-introduction of each staff, the SILF has presented the activities which were organized on the 21st & 22nd of March 2022. Future plan for the year 2022-2023 was presented. After the presentation, members discussion on each point. It was suggested that
- Timely information about scholarships should be given to all colonies.
- Some programmes should be organized to make students more competitive so that they can appear for competitive exams.
- It was informed that colony developed fund rules are changed and contribution to that fund is reduced from 100% to 25%
- Unreached states or difficult states like Odessa, West Bengal, and Tamilnadu should be given priority in next year’s programme.
- SILF will share the list of colonies where they want to work in the year 2022-2023. APAL will approve the list and the person who will represent APAL in the programme.
- SILF will enter into an MOU, with such as recommended person and the same MOU will be countersigned by APAL.
- It was suggested by all members that APAL leadership should be involved in planning monitoring and executing the project.
Mr.Venugopal proposed the vote of thanks to the chair and the meeting was concluded.
