On the date of 29th May 2022, APAL’s treasurer Mrs. Maya Ranavare along with APAL’s state committee and Volunteers visited TLM Vocational Training Center at Nashik in Maharashtra and observed the facilities
She interacted with the principal and staff of the VTC and discussed the education support or vocational skill development for children of people affected by leprosy who reside in the leprosy colonies, living under the shadow of leprosy in Maharashtra

APAL state committee Chhattisgarh conducted the POD (Prevention of Disabilities) Program
On the date 28th May 2022, the APAL state committee Chhattisgarh conducted the POD (Prevention of Disabilities)Program and provided ulcer care treatment by SSOD at Ashadeep Leprosy colony in Durg, Chhattisgarh
Due to loss of sensation the People Affected by Leprosy get ulcer wounds in their hands and feet. They require daily dressing of the ulcers to prevent bone infections and amputation of legs and fingers.

On the date of 28th May 2022, APAL’s treasurer Mrs. Maya Ranavare along with APAL’s state committee and Volunteers visited Valmiki Nagar Leprosy Colony at Nashik in Maharashtra and observed the people’s living situations and infrastructure of that colony
She interacted with the Youth, colony leaders and all inmates and discussed the children’s education, livelihood, social entitlements and etc. On this visit, Mr. Rasul Mullah President of the state committee, Ms. Sapna and Ms. Sneha volunteers of APAL were have participated

With the effort of APAL’s state committee Andhra Pradesh (SLAP-AP) for 8 months, The Government sanctioned and allotted 10 acres of a land total of 23 acres
On the date of 28th May 2022, With the effort of APAL’s state committee Andhra Pradesh (SLAP-AP) for 8 months, The Government sanctioned and allotted 10 acres of land total of 23 acres to Bunny Nagar Leprosy Colony in Guntur.
13 years back the Government has given 23 acres of land to the persons affected by leprosy who reside in the leprosy colony but have not been allotted or shown the particular place; after submitting the memorandum to the human rights commission, they allotted 10 acres and needs to provide remains 13 acres. APAL’s state committee continuously fights with the Government for the land rights of people affected by leprosy

At the request of APAL’s state committee Odisha, The Government of Odisha sanctioned and constructed a new Anganwadi School building
On the date of 27th May 2022, At the request of APAL’s state committee Odisha, The Government of Odisha sanctioned and constructed a new Anganwadi School building at Durgapur A, Raurkela Leprosy Colony in Odisha

On the date of 26th May 2022, APAL’s CEO Mr. Venu Gopal participated actively as a special guest while conducting a dissemination meeting on the study titled “Reducing stigma and improving mental wellbeing and social participation amongst men and women with disability due to lymphatic filariasis and leprosy in the districts of Jaunpur and Bokaro in India” on 25th May 2022, 10.00 – 14.00 Hours at IBIS Hotel, Aerocity, New Delhi. The study was funded by COR-NTD.

On the date of 26th May 2022, APAL’s treasurer Mrs. Maya Ranavare participated as a facilitator during 3 days International Leprosy Union at RMP in Mumbai, Maharashtra and explained and discussed the human rights of persons affected by Leprosy
On behalf of persons affected by leprosy, APAL conveys gratitude to the International Leprosy Union for their great services by providing awareness of Human Rights
Special thanks to Mrs. Maya Ranavare for her tireless efforts for the empowerment and welfare of persons affected by leprosy and their families
