On 21^st October 2022, APAL’s president Mrs Maya Ranavare participated in a meeting on “Leprosy National Strategic Plan and Roadmap, Meeting of Groups for Thematic Areas” in Delhi conducted by the National Leprosy Eradication Program, Central Leprosy Division, Dte. General of Health Services and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

At this meeting, she shared her vision and urge that ” Work together for the best result and huge changes in the living conditions of persons affected by leprosy and their families

On 20^th October 2022, APAL’s president Mrs Maya Ranavare and General Secretary Mr. Sarang Gayadhane participated in ‘Youth Against Leprosy ‘, a regional youth festival to raise awareness about leprosy. The festival concluded on Monday and brought together youths from various leprosy colonies and from different colleges in the state and Maharashtra.

The festival provided a platform for non-leprosy backgrounds to mingle and interact with youth from leprosy colonies. These interactions were aimed at busting myths and creating social bridges among youth regarding leprosy.

S-ILF CEO Vivek Lal told media persons that the very objective behind the festival was to sensitize people about myths associated with leprosy and do away with the prevailing social bias against persons suffering from leprosy, bring them their social, and economic empowerment

On 13^th October 2022, Dr. Takahiro Nanri, C E O, SHF, Mrs. Maya Ranavare, President APAL, and Mr. Venu Gopal, CEO, APAL meeting with S L O of Jharkhand, and team, regarding the visit of Mr. Yohie Sasakawa Goodwill Ambassador of leprosy elimination and other activities for the people affected by leprosy in the state

On 17^th October 2022, APAL’s President Mrs. Maya Ranavare along with Mr. Sarang Gaydhane General Secretary of APAL and the APAL’s state committee visited Arunoday Kushth Aashram at Jamudi in Indore, Madhya Pradesh

On this visit, she observed some development, some persons affected by leprosy constructed new houses through their efforts and support of APAL’s state committee and also, observed a lack of ulcer care and instructed them to start immediately and provide services regularly

On 16 October 2022, APAL conducted an online EC meeting, all EC members participated and discussed the reason behind the FCRA account freeze and how to solve the issue. Also, they discussed the Global Forum will conducted in Hyderabad in November 2022.

On 16^th October 2022, APAL’s President Mrs. Maya Ranavare along with Mr. Sarang Gaydhane General Secretary of APAL and the APAL’s state committee visited Sai Ram Avatar Kusht Seva Samiti Leprosy Colony in Indore Madhya Pradesh

On this visit, she found out about the lack of ulcer care treatment for persons affected by leprosy who facing a struggle with leprosy-related wounds and arranged all materials and supported medicine, conducted a POD(Prevention of Disability) camp in the POD unit which is already established by APAL and provided health or ulcer care by SSOD (Soaking Scrubbing Oiling and Dressing) and taught them the self-care by themselves in their houses as first-aid

On 16^th October 2022, APAL’s President Mrs. Maya Ranavare along with Mr. Sarang Gaydhane General Secretary of APAL and the APAL’s state committee visited Sant Dnyaneshwar Leprosy Seva Committee in Indore Madhya Pradesh

On this visit, she interacted with the persons affected by leprosy, colony leaders, Women, and youth and observed and found out their current problems which are most important; discussed the support of children’s education, the status of the treatment, social entitlements, the infrastructure of the colony, and motivated them by successful testimonies to overcome from their despair

On 15^th October 2022, APAL’s President Mrs. Maya Ranavare along with Mr. Sarang Gaydhane General Secretary of APAL and the APAL’s state committee in Madhya Pradesh visited Mahakal Kushth Aashram in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh

On this visit, she interacted with the colony leaders, Women, and youth and discussed the support of children’s education, the status of the treatment, social entitlements, the infrastructure of the colony, and most needs of the persons affected by leprosy and their families

On 15^th October 2022, APAL’s President Mrs. Maya Ranavare along with Mr. Sarang Gaydhane General Secretary of APAL and the APAL’s state committee in Madhya Pradesh visited Mahakal Kushth Aashram in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh

On this visit, she interacted with the colony leaders, Women, and youth and discussed the support of children’s education, the status of the treatment, social entitlements, the infrastructure of the colony, and most needs of the persons affected by leprosy and their families

On 9th October In collaboration with the Muthoot Snehasraya Project, APAL conducted a ” Life Style Diseases Identification Camp in Moulali Leprosy Colony at Hyderabad, Telangana, and tested 45 people affected by leprosy and their families

” Muthoot Snehasraya” is a Mobile Laboratory intended for the Prevention and early detection of kidney-related diseases, diabetes, and Hypertension ailments. The mobile ambulance is being operated across Telangana and facilitates the following blood and urine tests and creates awareness among people about the dreaded diseases. 1. Cholesterol 2. Creatinine 3. Sugar 4. BP 5. HBsAg
