On the date of 8th October 2021, APAL and APAL’s volunteer Mr. Maithil Sahoo conducted successfully the COVID-19 awareness program at Nayabazar Radhakrishna Mandir Leprosy Colony, Odisha in the presence of Mr. Umesh Naik President of the state committee

In this program, Mr. Sundergarh DLO, Mr. Rourkela DLC, Leprosy Supervisor, Leprosy Paramedical Workers, AASHA workers, and Anganwadi workers have participated and explained the precautions of the COVID-19 People affected by leprosy and their families are mostly impacted by the COVID-19. In response to this upheaval, the Association of People Affected by Leprosy (APAL) decided to run a project in the 30 leprosy colonies of 6 states, by the volunteers who are active and well-trained youth living in the same leprosy colony. The volunteers are aware people on the precautions of COVID-19 and do the health tests by Oximeter and Temperature gun as like first aid to people affected by leprosy and their families also and refer to the near PHC
