On May 18, 2024, a significant distribution program was conducted at Ambedkar Leprosy Colony and Shantinagar Leprosy Colony, wherein 150 families affected by leprosy received essential aid. The event was orchestrated by Ravi Garu, the Chief of Reliable Trust, a reputable organization committed to social welfare. This endeavour constituted a component of the ongoing campaign to assist marginalized communities and enhance their standard of living.
The program witnessed the participation of several prominent individuals, including Pirla Janaiah, the Councilor of the 3rd Ward, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Furthermore, Nagaraju, the President of the Ward Youth Congress Party, actively contributed to the event, underscoring the involvement of young political figures in social causes.
This distribution initiative was executed under the supervision of APAL’s state coordinator, Mr. Ramesh, who played a pivotal role. The engagement of APAL underscores the collaborative endeavours among diverse organizations to effect meaningful change. The event sought not only to deliver immediate relief but also to raise awareness about leprosy and the persistent challenges the affected individuals confront.
