APAL, along with APAL’s State Committee in Maharashtra, visited Hanuman Nagar in Kalyan, Mumbai

APAL, along with APAL’s State Committee in Maharashtra, visited Hanuman Nagar in Kalyan, Mumbai, on 5th December 2025. During the visit, the team met Shri Kailas Shinde, Hon. Corporator and Leader of the House, Kalyan–Dombivli Municipal Corporation. His warm welcome and support added great value to the purpose of the visit, which focused on understanding the challenges faced by persons affected by leprosy and their families.

The delegation interacted closely with the residents of the colony, listening to their concerns, experiences, and expectations. People openly shared the difficulties they face in their day-to-day lives, including issues related to housing, sanitation, healthcare access, and livelihood opportunities. The meeting created a positive environment where residents felt encouraged to express their needs with confidence.

During the discussion, APAL and the State Committee emphasized the importance of improving the overall living conditions in Hanuman Nagar. Topics such as regular medical support, better infrastructure, access to government welfare schemes, and dignity-based social inclusion were discussed in detail. Shri Kailas Shinde assured the team of his cooperation in addressing the most urgent needs of the colony. The visit ended on a hopeful note, strengthening the partnership between APAL, the State Committee, and the local municipal leadership for the welfare of the leprosy-affected community.
