The APAL’s (Association of People Affected by Leprosy) State Committee in Madhya Pradesh, in collaboration with the Samarpan Foundation Trust, successfully organized a two-day medical camp aimed at providing essential healthcare services to the residents of leprosy colonies. This initiative was part of APAL’s ongoing efforts to support marginalized communities and ensure their access to medical resources. The first camp took place on November 10, 2024, at the Raja Bhoj Leprosy Colony in Khanpura, followed by a second camp on November 11, 2024, at the Anand Nagar Leprosy Colony in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh.
During these medical camps, comprehensive health checks were conducted, including blood sugar level tests, blood pressure monitoring, and general blood tests. The medical team ensured that the residents were examined for common health concerns and provided with appropriate treatment. In addition, medicines were distributed to patients suffering from ailments such as colds, coughs, fevers, headaches, and other minor illnesses. The camps proved to be highly beneficial, with a total of 145 patients from both colonies receiving medical attention and medication. This initiative not only addressed immediate health issues but also reinforced the commitment of APAL and the Samarpan Foundation Trust to improve the well-being of communities impacted by leprosy in the region.
