On the date of 13th October 2021, APAL and the APAL’s volunteer Mr. Gopal Shinde successfully conducted the COVID-19 awareness program at Saraswati Leprosy Ashram in Indore.
The chief guests of this program Dr. Madhav Hasani DLO Indore, local councillor Mr. Bhupendra Chauhan, and Mr. Satish Chaudhary Lepra Society have participated and explained the precautions of the COVID-19
People affected by leprosy and their families are mostly impacted by the COVID-19. In response to this upheaval, the Association of People Affected by Leprosy (APAL) decided to run a project in the 30 leprosy colonies of 6 states, by the volunteers who are active and well-trained youth living in the same leprosy colony. The volunteers are aware people on the precautions of COVID-19 and do the health tests by Oximeter and Temperature gun as like first aid to people affected by leprosy and their families also and refer to the near PHC.
