On 30th January 2023, On 30th January 2023, on the occasion of World Leprosy Day, Mr. Ramesh President of the APAL’s state committee participated in the Leprosy Awareness Progam conducted by the Government of Telangana for students of nursing at Saroor Nagar PHC in Hyderabad and delivered his awareness speech through his own experiences and shared the current status of persons affected by leprosy and their families living in the leprosy colonies overall India.

In this program, Mr. Ravendra Nayak AD, Mr. Venkateswarlu DMHO, Dr. Aruna DLO, Ms. Sulochana, Mr. Srinivas Reddy DPMO, Mr. Narsappa, and Mr. Samuel have participated

On 30th January 2023, On the occasion of World Leprosy Day, APAL’s President Mrs. Maya Ranavare participated in the Grand Finale of the 9th Youth Fest on 30th January 2023 at the India Islamic Cultural Centre, New Delhi, organized by SILF

On this occasion, the Chief Guest is Mr. Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of the Confederation of Indian Industry. Youths from Leprosy and non-leprosy backgrounds from various Indian states have participated

Ms Maya Ranavare, president of the Association of People Affected by Leprosy (India) shared at the Vatican the recommendations

On 26th January 2023, Ms Maya Ranavare, president of the Association of People Affected by Leprosy (India) shared at the Vatican the recommendations put forward by the People’s Organizations at the 2nd Global Forum of People’s Organizations on Hansen’s Disease, which was held last year in India. I particularly appreciated the solutions recommended by the People’s Organizations to the ongoing problems experienced by the people they represent and that Ms Maya Ranavare shared with the participants at the International Symposium on Hansen’s Disease and Global Appeal (Vatican) last 24th January, ahead of the World Leprosy Day.

Solutions:

1. All People Organizations should form a committee and Core Committee at the international level 2. In the matter of memorandum submission to Govt authorities on the issues of leprosy, we should take solidarity with the signatures of all representatives of People organizations overall world.

APAL conducted an online Executive Committee Meeting

On 4th January 2023, APAL conducted an online Executive Committee Meeting and all members are participated.

In this meeting, Mr. Uday Thakar explained the FCRA updating and way of verification and also, discussed future activities of APAL

On 3rd January 2023, APAL’s President Mrs. Maya Ranavare along with the APAL’s state committee Maharashtra and Maharashtra Kusht Sanghatana visited the Ananadvan leprosy colony in Dapoli, Pune

On this visit, discussed the awareness programs and activities of World Leprosy Day on 30th January 2023 and all inmates shared their views and plans
