The continued delays in detecting new patients and persisting discrimination against people affected by leprosy and lack of awareness of the transmission of leprosy, the reveal of the reality and myths of the disease of leprosy, APAL conducting awareness programs in Schools and Colleges
In this awareness Program, Mrs. Maya Ranavare President of APAL, Mrs. Kurandwadi Leprosy Technician, and Mr. Jugmohan Bhurlee Social worker explained the disease of leprosy and related issues physical and social.
Mrs. Nalini Principal of the school, Teachers Mr. Sanjay Patil, Mrs. Shuhnangi Gurav, Mrs. Jayashree Awale, and Mrs. Rupali Lade taught the importance of awareness of the disease of leprosy and related treatment
250 students participated and gave feedback that was “well explained in local language and understood all given information”.
