On 27th March 2023, APAL supported with Sasakawa Health Foundation in association with Disabled Peoples’ International (DPI) and the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) conducted an awareness program on leprosy at Kulloli Hospital, Nursing College in Sangli, Maharashtra

The continued delays in detecting new patients and persisting discrimination against people affected by leprosy and lack of awareness of the transmission of leprosy, the reveal of the reality and myths of the disease of leprosy, APAL conducting awareness programs in Schools and Colleges

In this awareness Program, Mrs. Maya Ranavare President of APAL,, Dr. Deepak, Resource Person, Mrs. Madhuri Viksas Kagalkar Principal of Nursing College explained the disease of leprosy and the consequences physically and socially and Tutors Mrs. Swati Hindu Rao Kamble, Mrs. Ambika Mayani Patil taught the students the importance of awareness or knowledge on all diseases

85 students actively participated in the awareness program and gave their feedback that “We all gained knowledge from this lecture all doubts are cleared; given information about leprosy and all posters, the bookmark was good”.
